The new March-April issue of INSIDE OUT is packed with inspiration and trend spotting! I love the interview with owner of Publisher Textiles, Mark Cawood and his unique wallpaper designs creating optical illusions and inspired by patterns found naturally in his everyday surroundings. He used eco-friendly, hand-mixed dyes. There are also some interesting textile and surface pattern trends highlighted including bold patterns applied to ordinary furniture, DIY Dip dye throw pillows, statement tablecloths and metallic bronze shine. Check it out!
Valentine’s Day is a funny holiday and there are always mixed feelings about whether it should be one or not. Of course, we don’t need a specific day every year to acknowledge the ones we love, because we should tell them we love them everyday. However, Valentine’s Day still provides a nice excuse to be extra thoughtful, loving and creative! It’s an excuse to go out to a fancy restaurant , organise a special movie night in, buy that something your partner has been wanting for ages, say “Will you be my Valentine?”, receive a cute plush toy even if your over the age of ten, make a card for someone, use excessive amounts of red & pink, dress up in something sexy and say as many mushy lovey-dovey phrases as you like! So what will you be doing this Valentines Day and who will you be spending it with?
Happy Valentine’s Day!
“Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is
what makes the ride worthwhile.” – Franklin Jones
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving
someone deeply gives you courage.” – Lao Tzu
“Let us always meet each other with smile,
for the smile is the beginning of love.” – Mother Teresa

With Valentine’s Day nearing I can’t help but share with you some inspiration taken from my favourite holiday colour palette. Valentine’s Day has the signature palette of Red, Pink and White, such a lovely combination! Bright pinks and reds, are said to stimulate energy and can increase the blood pressure, respiration, heartbeat, and pulse rate. They also encourage action, friendliness and confidence. Perfect for getting the courage up on Valentines Day to ask that special someone out on a date!
Today’s inspiration is the retro stationery designer Pilgrim Lee and her totally rad brand Draw!Pilgrim. The talented lady has an amazing blog and website set-up at www.drawpilgrim.com which includes a tour of her funky home, regular feature posts and shop. Below are some of her cute designs inspired by the 1960′s and 1970′s. Loving that colour blocking!

At home I have three sliding doors that run from the floor to the ceiling, that hide my wardrobe in my room. They initially started as an off-white colour, but being me, that was too boring! So in the next few posts I will be sharing with you the three ways that I decorated my wardrobe doors. The techniques and styling ideas are easily applied to your own sliding wardrobe doors, walls or any flat surface that may need some jazzing up!
Wardrobe Door Revamp #2: DIY Creative Wallpaper

The papers and colours I chose were completely my personal choice, but you can choose any papers you like for this one, for a more subtle appearance try heavily textured card in neutral tones such as white, cream, brown and grey. Sometimes you just need a little break… My boyfriend and I enjoy taking day trips and weekend down to Mornington Peninsula’s, Sorrento, in fact we are down there today! They have lovely beaches, parks and great food too! Here are some happy snaps I took with my new Nikon D1300 SLR Camera from the last time we visited this buzzing coastal town. I hope everyone has had a wonderful, relaxing Australia Day weekend!
